Soccer Recap: Winnebago Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Winnebago and Byron, and Byron kept the tradition alive. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Tigers who were credited with the win on Monday. The Byron Tigers got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Winnebago Indians' three. Winnebago were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Byron apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Ayden Rasner and Rayjo Salkic scored both of Winnebago's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Winnebago has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10-1 record this season. As for Byron, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4-1.
