Football Recap: St. Martin Yellow Jackets vs. Vancleave Bulldogs
St. Martin gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Vancleave Bulldogs by a score of 24-14. The victory was some much needed relief for the Yellow Jackets as it spelled an end to their ten-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Martin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kevin Marshall, who rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 80 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes.
Although Vancleave took the loss, they still got scores from Junior Harris and Kyle Capers.
St. Martin will venture away from home to square off against Petal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Martin is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. As for Vancleave, they will host Gulfport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
