Soccer Recap: Douglas Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three games, Douglas finally came back down to earth on Saturday. They came up short against the Guntersville Wildcats, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 back in February.

The loss snapped Douglas' winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-3 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those three contests. As for Guntersville, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2-1 record this season.

Douglas didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 5-0 defeat against Southside on the 8th. As for Guntersville, they will face off against Buckhorn at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
