Basketball Game Preview: Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders vs. Mission Bay Buccaneers + How To Watch

Having just played yesterday, the Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders will head out on the road to face off against the Mission Bay Buccaneers at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Mater Dei Catholic saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Patrick Henry.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Mission Bay beat Westview 44-40 on Tuesday. Given the Buccaneers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Wolverines are ranked 235th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mission Bay is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points over those games. As for Mater Dei Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Mater Dei Catholic might still be hurting after the 69-49 loss they got from Mission Bay when the teams last played back in February of 2022. Can the Crusaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
