Basketball Game Preview: Wilson Prep Tigers vs. Warren County Eagles

The Wilson Prep Tigers will take on the Warren County Eagles in a tournament on Tuesday. Wilson Prep will be looking to extend their current 15-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Wilson Prep really took it to Southeast Halifax for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-23 win. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 25 points or more this season.

Wilson Prep found their leader in freshman Paris Best, who went 10-for-16 to rack up 24 points and eight steals. Best's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nakiya Boston, who went 6-for-10 on her way to 16 points.

North Edgecombe typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Warren County proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 62-52. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Wilson Prep's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.1 points over those games. As for Warren County, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.

Wilson Prep strolled past Warren County when the teams last played on Wednesday by a score of 59-42. Does Wilson Prep have another victory up their sleeve, or will Warren County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
