Centennial put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the West Mesa Mustangs 16-4. 16 seems to be a good number for the Hawks as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Destiny Perez was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Amanda Valles and Aaliyah Betancourt did most of the damage at the plate: Valles fired off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 3-for-4, while Betancourt fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Stevie Jimenez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Centennial lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Mesa only launched one home run.

Centennial's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for West Mesa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Centennial beat West Mesa by a score of 21-3 later that day.
