West Babylon got themselves on the board against Smithtown West on Wednesday, but Smithtown West never followed suit. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Smithtown West, sneaking past 2-0. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Not much got past Matt Critchly, who gave up just a hit to keep Smithtown West off the board.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Elijah Outlaw, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Steve Gervasi was another key player, earning one run and two stolen bases.

West Babylon's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Smithtown West, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-2.

West Babylon will have a chance to go back-to-back against Smithtown West: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
