Video: Top 10 Plays of the Week includes a play from the Sacramento area.With only a few weeks left in the regular season the playoff picture is starting to become more clear. Below is a projection of potential matchups in Division III of the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section.
See any mistakes? Have a question? Tweet us @SacMaxPreps1. Automatic Entries (23): Each league will qualify one team for the playoffs. If a league has multiple league champions they will all qualify for the playoffs.
2. At-large Entries: For the purposes of at-large qualifying, all schools will be divided into seven divisions as follows: The largest 90% of all schools that play football will be divided into six divisions. Division VII will be composed of the smallest 10% of schools that play football. If there is an odd number of teams, the first additional school will fill in at Division I, then Division II and finally Division III. At-large bids are set by where they finish in their division rankings.
3. A minimum of 4 wins is required. A team does NOT have to win two league games.
4. 78 teams will be placed in their predetermined division. Once all 78 teams are in their will be shuffling as some teams are required to move up because of the league they are in or past success. For example, if you are a D4 team but win a D3 league you will play in D3 playoffs.
5. Divisions I-VI will be comprised of 12 teams. Division VII will have six teams.
