Basketball Game Preview: Bakersfield Drillers vs. Ridgeview Wolf Pack

The Bakersfield Drillers will venture away from home to take on the Ridgeview Wolf Pack at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bakersfield knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Ridgeview likes a good challenge.

Bakersfield is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Bakersfield Christian just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 72-60 to the Eagles.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Kade Johnson, who went 10 for 23 on his way to 27 points. The game was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kamren Owens, who posted nine points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Ridgeview also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Stockdale by a score of 56-49.

Ridgeview's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Bakersfield, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-9.

Bakersfield took their victory against Ridgeview in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 70-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bakersfield since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
