Volleyball Game Preview: ACE Charter Cheetahs vs. Stratford Prep Lions

The ACE Charter Cheetahs will take on the Stratford Prep Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

ACE Charter is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 3-2.

ACE Charter took Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-18, 25-21, 22-25, 15-9.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Stratford Prep duked it out with KIPP Navigate College Prep on Friday. The Lions fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2. While the Lions didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 25-16 in the first set.

Stratford Prep actually scored more points across those five sets (103-102), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 19-25, 27-25, 25-15, 15-13.

ACE Charter's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for Stratford Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
