Volleyball Recap: Southland Takes a Loss

Southland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Burnsville Blaze.

JJ Smith paced Southland's offense, picking up seven kills. Smith got some help from Abe Phillips and his 15 assists. Brede Nelsen controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Southland's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Burnsville, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Southland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Como Park on the 3rd. Burnsville has also already played their next contest (against Shakopee), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
