Basketball Recap: Keswick Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Zach Bingham and Grant Cook

Keswick Christian and Sarasota Christian squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Keswick Christian had to settle for second. They took a 60-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sarasota Christian Blazers. The Crusaders have struggled against the Blazers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Grant Cook and Zach Bingham certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Cook went 10 for 20 on his way to 24 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, while Bingham went 8 of 19 en route to 21 points. Cook is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Batey, who posted two points along with seven boards and five assists.

Even though they lost, Keswick Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Leading Sarasota Christian to victory were Josh Frazzini and Ben Milliken. Frazzini went 10 for 16 to rack up 25 points, while Milliken scored 20 points and four steals. What's more, Milliken also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Justin Brock was another key player, putting up four points and five assists.

Keswick Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Sarasota Christian, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 14-12.

Keswick Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sarasota Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 58-32 loss against Gulf Coast HEAT on the 7th.
