Basketball Game Preview: Lima Christian Saints vs. Mount Morris Blue Devils

Having just played yesterday, the Lima Christian Saints will head out on the road to face off against the Mount Morris Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Lima Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Northstar Christian Academy by a score of 63-54 on Friday.

Alyssa Marsh was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 39 points and 12 boards. The game was her 12th in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Sophy Britton, who posted six points in addition to six assists and five rebounds.

Lima Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mount Morris, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They took their contest on Monday with ease, bagging a 61-15 win over Hinsdale Central. That looming 61-15 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Blue Devils yet this season.

Mount Morris' victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Lima Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Everything came up roses for Lima Christian against Mount Morris in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 55-28 victory. Will Lima Christian repeat their success, or does Mount Morris have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
