Inlet Grove extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Ja?Marcus Johnson. The Inlet Grove Hurricanes came out on top in a nail-biter against the Santaluces Chiefs on Thursday, sneaking past 51-48 thanks in part to Johnson, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points and three steals. The matchup was his third in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Cajilus, who posted seven points and eight rebounds. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Despite the loss, Santaluces still got an impressive performance from Geovanni Casteel, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 boards. Those 21 points gave Casteel a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Michael Hamilton, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Inlet Grove's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Santaluces, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Inlet Grove won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cardinal Newman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Santaluces, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Boynton Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
