Softball Game Preview: Woodmont Wildcats vs. Belton-Honea Path Bears

Woodmont hasn't had much luck against Belton-Honea Path recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Bears at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Woodmont 2.6, Belton-Honea Path 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Woodmont gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over Mauldin. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Mavericks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Belton-Honea Path got themselves on the board against Walhalla on Friday, but Walhalla never followed suit. They blew past the Razorbacks 15-0. Considering the Bears have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Belton-Honea Path is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Woodmont, they pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
