Football Game Preview: North Fort Myers Red Knights vs. Dunbar Tigers + Official Tickets

Two dominant backs in Christian Weber and Tylen Gore are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The North Fort Myers Red Knights will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Dunbar Tigers at 7:30 p.m. North Fort Myers is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

North Fort Myers barely beat East Lee County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Red Knights took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-0 victory over the Jaguars. That looming 42-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Red Knights yet this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Fort Myers to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caedon Conn, who threw for 138 yards and two TDs on only 13 passes. Conn's passing game has become a key predictor of the Red Knights' success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. North Fort Myers' leading receiver Charles Lombardo was Conn's top target yet again, picking up 95 receiving yards and one touchdown.

North Fort Myers was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 222 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 173 rushing yards in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Dunbar played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Port Charlotte, falling 44-12. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Pirates are ranked 47th).

Dunbar's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for North Fort Myers, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
