Softball Recap: Charlotte Christian Comes Up Short

After flying high against Providence Day last Friday, Charlotte Christian came back down to earth. The Knights lost 9-1 to the Charlotte Latin Hawks on Monday. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hawks earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Charlotte Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anna Hinde, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Charlotte Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Charlotte Latin, their record is now 10-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charlotte Christian will venture away from home to square off against Cannon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Charlotte Latin, they will head out on the road to take on Providence Day at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hawks 1.8, the Chargers 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
