Baseball Recap: Straughn Comes Up Short

Straughn's last matchup with New Brockton could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Friday. The Tigers came up short against the Gamecocks, falling 12-6. The Tigers have struggled against the Gamecocks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Saxby Radford made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Straughn is 6-3 when Radford posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of JT Moreno, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Straughn's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for New Brockton, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-9.

While Straughn had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
