Baseball Game Preview: Ludlow Lions vs. Chicopee Comp Colts

The Ludlow Lions will head out on the road to take on the Chicopee Comp Colts at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Ludlow has given up an average of 9.3 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

South Hadley hit Ludlow with a five-run second inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lions came up short against the Tigers, falling 11-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 21 runs the game before, Chicopee Comp was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Belchertown.

Ludlow's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Chicopee Comp, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Ludlow suffered a grim 10-3 defeat to Chicopee Comp in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
