After a string of three wins, St. Joseph's Prep's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Fordham Prep Rams by a score of 8-7. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rams earlier this season, when they won 7-2.

St. Joseph's Prep got a good showing from Cole Blanch, who struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the fewest earned runs Blanch has allowed since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Michael Falcone was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Will Ward was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

St. Joseph's Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Fordham Prep, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.

Coming up, St. Joseph's Prep will head out to face off against Neumann-Goretti at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hawks 3.8, the Saints 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Fordham Prep, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, an 8-7 victory against St. Joseph on the 12th.
