Baseball Recap: Ridgefield Takes a Loss

Ridgefield extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 9-13 in the process. They came up short against the Pomperaug Panthers, falling 9-3. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2016.

As for Pomperaug, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-14. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 30th (when they won 10-4).

For Pomperaug's part, the team relied heavily on Zach Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Johnson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Noah Pane, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Ridgefield nor Pomperaug have any future games scheduled.
