Basketball Recap: Sand Creek Starts Season with Win on the Road

Sand Creek had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-53 win over the Reading Rangers.

Reading's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Wright, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds. Wright has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last three times he's played. Peyton Fowler was another key player, putting up 11 points and four steals.

Looking ahead, Sand Creek will square off against Hudson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Reading, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 67-48 victory against Camden-Frontier on the 3rd.
