Football Game Preview: Farmingdale Dalers vs. Freeport Red Devils

The Farmingdale Dalers will head out on the road to face off against the Freeport Red Devils on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Farmingdale has three straight victories, Freeport has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Farmingdale took their game with ease, bagging a 35-7 win over Herricks/Wheatley. With the Dalers ahead 35-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Freeport and Syosset, and Syosset kept the tradition alive. The Red Devils had to suffer through a 43-8 loss at the hands of Syosset. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 265th, while Syosset are ranked 98th).

Freeport's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Farmingdale, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Everything came up roses for Farmingdale against Freeport in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dalers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
