Softball Recap: Weyauwega-Fremont Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Weyauwega-Fremont's offense. They came up short against the Wittenberg-Birnamwood Chargers on Tuesday, falling 20-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Warhawks have suffered against the Chargers since April 27, 2021.

Weyauwega-Fremont's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Wittenberg-Birnamwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Weyauwega-Fremont will challenge Southern Door at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warhawks are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Wittenberg-Birnamwood, they will square off against Iola-Scandinavia at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Thunderbirds will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Chargers surely won't give up without a fight.
