Softball Game Preview: Conestoga Valley Buckskins vs. Annville-Cleona Dutchmen

The Conestoga Valley Buckskins will take on the Annville-Cleona Dutchmen at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Conestoga Valley will be strutting in after a victory while Annville-Cleona will be coming in after a defeat.

Conestoga Valley proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 11) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Berks Catholic 4-2.

Julia Rhoads spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Laila Smith, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Annville-Cleona's offense. They fell just short of Eastern York by a score of 1-0 on Monday.

Annville-Cleona saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Danika Setlock, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Annville-Cleona's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6. As for Conestoga Valley, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.
