Baseball Recap: Crete-Monee Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Crete-Monee's offense. They fell 3-0 to the Bremen Braves on Thursday. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2018.

Crete-Monee got a good showing from Dylan Dee, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Dee has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Crete-Monee saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Deutsche, who went 1-for-3 with one double. Christopher Schubbe also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Crete-Monee is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. As for Bremen, their victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

Coincidentally, Crete-Monee and Bremen will both be playing Joliet Central the next time they take the field. The Braves will head out to face the Steelmen at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Warriors will head out to face them at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
