Basketball Recap: Osceola Beats Drexel for Their Fifth Straight Win

Osceola waltzed into their match on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They skirted past the Drexel Bobcats 46-43. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Bobcats are ranked 207th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Laney Uchtman was her usual excellent self, going 5 for 7 en route to 12 points. Grace Colby was another key player, putting up eight points.

Osceola smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive contests.

Osceola's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Drexel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Osceola has already played their next game, a 45-40 win against Montrose on the 27th. As for Drexel, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Archie at 5:30 p.m. on February 4th.
