Basketball Game Preview: Stuart Broncos vs. Valentine

The Stuart Broncos will face off against Valentine at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Valentine took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Stuart, who comes in off a win.

Stuart is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Creighton: they outscored them in every quarter. The Broncos took down the Bulldogs 54-37 on Friday.

Stuart's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kyra Tubbs led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 24 points and nine rebounds. Those 24 points gave Tubbs a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Annie Ludwig, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Valentine's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They lost 60-36 to Hershey.

Valentine's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Stuart, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.

Stuart was able to grind out a solid win over Valentine in their previous meeting back in January of 2025, winning 50-41. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Valentine's Paige Sprenger, who went 7-for-16 to rack up 20 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Broncos still be able to contain Sprenger? There's only one way to find out.
