Baseball Game Preview: Cashmere Bulldogs vs. College Place Hawks

The Cashmere Bulldogs will square off against the College Place Hawks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While Cashmere's victory against Chelan wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Cashmere skirted past Chelan 8-6. The win was just business as usual for the Bulldogs, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Mac Carlson was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

In other pitching news, Jack Niederstadt looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up three earned runs but no hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Rylan Hatmaker, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when College Place challenged Connell on Tuesday. College Place had just enough and edged out Connell 2-1.

Cashmere's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for College Place, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
