Basketball Recap: Richwood Comes Up Short

Richwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 74-43 loss at the hands of the Wirt County Tigers. That's two games in a row now that the Lumberjacks have lost by exactly 31 points.

Tyler Smith continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wirt County, going 9-for-18 on his way to 22 points and three steals. Wirt County is 2-1 when Smith posts 20 or more points, but 6-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Moore, who posted seven points in addition to six assists and five rebounds.

Richwood's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Wirt County, their record is now 8-11.

While Richwood had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
