Walnut waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 66-43 margin over the Ripley Tigers. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Tigers are ranked 241st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Walnut has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-2 record this season. As for Ripley, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.
