Softball Recap: Kennard-Dale's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Kennard-Dale had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Susquehannock Warriors, sneaking past 4-2. For the Rams, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Taryn Ashenfelter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Kennard-Dale's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Rinaudo, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Kennard-Dale pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Susquehannock, they moved to 5-4 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
