Basketball Recap: Columbia River Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Columbia River proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 40) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Seton Catholic Cougars 59-57. Given the Rapids' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Cougars are ranked 138th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Columbia River's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points per game. As for Seton Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia River will welcome Hudson's Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbia River is facing Hudson's Bay at the right time seeing as Hudson's Bay is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Seton Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Castle Rock at 7:00 p.m.
