Softball Recap: Saks Takes a Loss

The Saks Wildcats didn't have quite enough to beat the Gaston Bulldogs on Monday and fell 6-4. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ava Snead was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only two walks, the fewest she's had since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Raina Zackary was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. That stolen base was her first of the season.

Saks' record is now 5-14. As for Gaston, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-11-1.

Coming up, Saks will host Wadley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gaston, they will venture away from home to take on Southside at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
