Basketball Recap: Long Creek Gets the Win

The third road match was the charm for Long Creek, as they earned their first road win of the season. They walked away with a 39-32 victory over the Nixon-Smiley Mustangs on Friday.

Grace Gomez and Brooke Crisp certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Gomez posted seven points and five steals, while Crisp had eight points and three steals. Gomez continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

The win got Long Creek back to even at 3-3. As for Nixon-Smiley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Long Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-22 loss against Devine on the 6th. As for Nixon-Smiley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-53 victory against Marion on the 7th.
