Baseball Recap: Fort Cherry Takes a Loss

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Fort Cherry nor Laurel made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Rangers might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-3 to the Spartans, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Rangers haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Fort Cherry's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Laurel, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-10.

Fort Cherry does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Laurel, they will face off against Shenango at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
