Softball Recap: Soddy Daisy Wins Going Away Against Red Bank

Soddy Daisy won the last time they faced Red Bank and things went their way on Thursday too. The Trojans blew past the Lions 13-1. Considering the Trojans have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Soddy Daisy let Skylar Gooden and Ava Blue run wild. Gooden went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base, while Blue went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Blue has posted over her last eight contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilyana Blaylock, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Soddy Daisy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive matches.

Soddy Daisy's victory bumped their record up to 14-10-1. As for Red Bank, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Soddy Daisy will face off against East Hamilton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Red Bank, they will venture away from home to square off against Polk County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lions are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
