Basketball Game Preview: Honey Grove Warriors vs. Sam Rayburn Rebels

Honey Grove has won five straight games at home, while Sam Rayburn has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Honey Grove Warriors will host the Sam Rayburn Rebels at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

If Honey Grove beats Sam Rayburn with 50 points on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Honey Grove really took it to Celeste for the full four quarters, racking up a 50-21 win. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sam Rayburn). They blew past Trenton, posting an 86-31 victory. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 435th, while the Tigers are ranked 1626th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Honey Grove's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Sam Rayburn, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season.
