Volleyball Recap: Waterloo Gets the Win

After losing to New Glarus the last time they met, Waterloo decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Pirates came out on top against the Glarner Knights by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. The game was the first time the Pirates have beaten the Glarner Knights on their court since September 6, 2022.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-23, 16-25, 25-15.

Brynlee Lauersdorf was the offensive standout of the match as she had 13 digs and two assists. Those 13 digs gave her a new career-high. Nikomi Sullivan also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Waterloo now has a winning record of 4-3. As for New Glarus, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Waterloo has already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Luther Prep on the 13th. As for New Glarus, they will host Wisconsin Heights at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
