Basketball Recap: Derby Comes Up Short

Derby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They were beaten by the Ansonia Chargers 97-20. If the Red Raiders were looking for revenge after losing 87-27 to the Chargers when the teams met back in January of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Derby's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Ansonia, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Derby will square off against St. Paul Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ansonia, they will challenge Crosby at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
