Football Recap: Sickles Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Sickles and Strawberry Crest squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Sickles had to settle for second. They took an 18-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers. The Gryphons just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Although Sickles took the loss, they still got scores from Mya Ward and Vinci Settlemire.

Sickles didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. It was a group effort, with five picking up one apiece. Settlemire has been hot for a while, having also posted five or more total tackles the last 25 times she's played. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Sickles' defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Strawberry Crest, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Sickles does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Strawberry Crest, they have already played their next match, a 42-12 loss against Steinbrenner on the 15th.
