Soccer Game Preview: Gulf vs. Hernando

The Gulf Buccaneers will venture away from home to face off against the Hernando Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Gulf is looking to pick up the season's first win, something they couldn't quite do against Hudson on Thursday. Neither the Buccaneers nor the Cobras could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Alex Castillo was the only thing that stood between Gulf and a shutout considering he scored both of Gulf's goals, bringing his season total up to two goals.

Meanwhile, Hernando had just enough and edged out Zephyrhills 2-1 on Wednesday.

Gulf's draw makes their record 0-1-1 this season. As for Hernando, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2-1.

Gulf couldn't quite get it done against Hernando in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 as they fell 4-2. Can the Buccaneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
