Softball Recap: Wewahitchka Gators vs. Holmes County Blue Devils

The Wewahitchka Gators took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Holmes County Blue Devils on Tuesday. Wewahitchka's loss continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Wewahitchka saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Savana Mayhann, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

On Holmes County's side, Brianna Adams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. Adams has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Ava Jones was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Tiffany Barnes, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with a home run.
