If Hempstead wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Brazos, they should've done a better job of containing Kendall Macha. The Cougars put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 3-0 win on Friday for which the team can thank Macha, who had 15 digs and seven assists. She has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last six times she's played.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-16, 25-9.

Brazos is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-15 record this season. As for Hempstead, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Brazos will face off against rival Boling at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hempstead is set to square off against their familiar foe Van Vleck at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
