Softball Recap: Desert Ridge Beats Marana for Their Fourth Straight Win

Desert Ridge entered their tilt with Marana on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 17-14. While the Jaguars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Aleeya Barwick was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Brooklyn Parks was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Barwick wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Desert Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Desert Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Marana, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-6.

Desert Ridge has already played their next game, a 13-9 win against Hamilton on the 20th. As for Marana, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 12-11 victory against Chandler on the 24th.
