Baseball Game Preview: Edgewood Mustangs vs. Northview Knights

The Edgewood Mustangs are taking a road trip to face off against the Northview Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Edgewood is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Edgewood's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top against Vincennes Rivet by a score of 3-0.

The team relied heavily on Jackson Cosby, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Lawson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Meanwhile, Northview didn't have quite enough to beat Southridge on Saturday and fell 4-3.

Edgewood's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Northview, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Edgewood came out on top in a nail-biter against Northview in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
