After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Scotland, East Columbus was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the West Columbus Vikings with a sharp 19-1 win. Considering the Gators have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Gracie Coyle made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Coyle was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jenna King was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Aleigh Godwin was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs.
East Columbus has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for West Columbus, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Looking ahead, East Columbus will challenge Ashley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Columbus will be paying especially close attention to the Gators' game: after the Gators face off against the Screaming Eagle, they'll take on West Columbus again at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
