Recap: Buford Yellowjackets vs. Andrew Jackson Volunteers
The Buford Yellowjackets''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by Andrew Jackson on the road and fell 59-6. Buford was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-6.
Trey Thompson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 177 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. Thompson is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last ten games he's played. Isaac Blackmon was in the mix as well, providing Andrew Jackson with two touchdowns.
Buford's loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.7 points per game. As for Andrew Jackson, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Buford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Andrew Jackson will head out on the road to face off against Ridgeland-Hardeeville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
