Basketball Recap: Trotwood-Madison Comes Up Short

After flying high against Western Hills last Saturday, Trotwood-Madison came back down to earth. The Trotwood-Madison Rams were dealt a 56-20 defeat at the hands of the Springfield Wildcats on Monday. If the Rams were looking for revenge after losing 67-21 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Janiyah Boykin was Trotwood-Madison's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Br?Ia Maddox held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Dayveona Boynton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Springfield, going 9 of 19 en route to 23 points along with seven boards and four steals. The game was Boynton's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Crockran, who posted six points in addition to six assists and four steals.

Trotwood-Madison's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Springfield, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trotwood-Madison will take on Hughes at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Springfield, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Springfield Wildcats challenge the Springboro Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Springfield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.2 points per game this season.
