Softball Recap: Wolcott Comes Up Short

If Wolcott was riding high fresh off their 13-0 takedown of Wilby last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles came up short against the Seymour Wildcats on Friday, falling 10-4. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Lilly Spina made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Jaelyn Belval was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Wolcott's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Seymour, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wolcott will face off against Derby at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Seymour, they will challenge Ansonia at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. This will be the Wildcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
